We can barely contain our excitement.  Seriously.

The Midtown Pop-Up Shop is happening this week (starts Thursday!) and we know it’s going to be one of the coolest, most unique happenings to hit Atlanta in a long time.  Well, at least in the shopping/retail/style world.  This first-time “event” will be a plethora of hard-to-find retailers in 3 commercial spaces on Peachtree Street (corner of 10th & Peachtree to be exact).

Midtown Pop-Up Shop | December 2-5 | 805 + 990 + 999 Peachtree

December 2-4, 10a.m. – 8 p.m. & December 5, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

We’re not so crazy about crowded malls this time of year, so we can’t wait to holiday shop in this totally different (and much cooler) scene.  Not to mention, the Pop-Up Shop is going to have goods you can’t even find at the mall.  We’re pretty pumped about clothing by Billy Reid, who you stylish folk out there might know as GQ’s Best New Menswear Designer in America.

Also on the clothing front, you can find boots and denim by designers William Rast, Paige, James, Agave, J Brand and True Religion.  And, there will be the exclusive opportunity to shop in-person from online retailer Les Nouvelles (we’re a big fan of their Rag & Bone selection).  In other words, clear some room in your closet.

For those of you who are always on the hunt for unique and stylish home goods, you’re in for a  too-good-to-be-true treat.  Except, it’s true.  H&H Home will be in attendance with their amazing furnishings, and we’ll definitely be antique shopping from Love Train Antiques, a retailer that imports one-of-a-kind pieces from Belgium, France, Sweden and Argentina.  Need decorating tips?  Tracery Interiors will be at the Pop-Up for you to ask away.

You artsy types will appreciate a combo holiday-themed “gallery” by AFFPS and Decatur Gallery featuring more than 30 local artists and artisans.

Talkin’ about art, how about SCAD?!  shopSCAD is in the house (well, actually right next door to the Margaret Mitchell House).  Stop by and select the perfect gift for someone special from shopSCAD’s artwork and designs created by SCAD artists. Purchase handmade jewelry, fashion, paintings, textile art and more.  And, did we mention that Octane Coffee will be poppin’ up in the shopSCAD space at 990 Peachtree?  Yep.  Delicious coffee, hot chocolate, and all your favorites from one of our favorites.

If you’re in more of a gift-giving mode (which we all should be, right?), pick out the perfect item from Bella Cucina (artful food and gifts), Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co. (the premier bean-to-bar chocolate maker in the South), Savannah Bee Company (think body care products made from beeswax) and Yee-Haw Industries (folk art, fun posters, greeting cards, stationary and more).  Here’s hoping you didn’t spend all your cash on Black Friday.

And, because shopping is a whole lot more fun with a drink in hand and music in the background (ie. at a party), there will be plenty of soirees happening in conjunction with the Midtown Pop-Up Shop.  Sip complimentary bourbon at the Billy Reid shop until 9 p.m. on Thursday  night.  And, ON FRIDAY the 3rd, it’s the Sidewalk Radio Happy Hour to celebrate December’s episode, “The Art Show”, with FREE WINE & BEER at the shopSCAD Pop-Up (again, 990 Peachtree) from 6:00 – 8:00.

All this shopping making you hungry?  Empire State South is kinda that de facto spot for a bite and a brew.  Remember, they’re right there too.

Check out “Midtown Pop-Up” on Facebook for additional info on Pop-Up Shop happenings and we hope to see you there.

Trust us, you won’t even have buyer’s remorse.

Psst, one more thing:  we hear (hint, hint) that Alternative Apparel is having their Holiday Sample Sale right behind 990 Peachtree at 80 Peachtree Place.  Check it out and you can thank us later.
